Every third week in January, Colombiatex draws 600 exhibitors and more than 15,000 attendees to the city of Medellín. Colombiatex is the premier textile show in the Americas with exhibitors from across the globe exhibiting a vast array of products from million dollar weaving, printing and sewing machines to buttons, bows and zippers. It is a clothing manufacturers paradise with participation from well known names as Spandex and Levi’s and from artisans who design fabric designs, boutique buttons and any part and piece required to fabricate clothing, homewares and many other items essential to our lives.
POLI-TAPE was represented at Colombiatex by ADH Papeles Adhesivos, our strong partner in Colombia. The show is always a success for us as a large part of the industry is dedicated to decoration and personalization. There is no surprise the greatest attraction at the show were the TURBO line and PEARL GLITTER. These two product lines are hot, viable, available and necessary to any decorators offering.
The trend at Colombiatex was once again personalization. As we saw at the ISS Long Beach show, there is high demand for heat transfer vinyl with variable transfer parameters. TURBO’s universal application is desirable as it will apply to sensitive fabrics such as Spandex as well as to a leather jacket. TURBO is universal as it will apply to just about anything except for coated nylon.
